You will find no formula here, no superfluous detail or predictable outcome, which account for some of the reasons I enjoyed this book. The writing is evocative too and fully developed three dimensional characters make it easy for a reader to immerse themselves in this world.
If you’re looking for an engrossing, exciting page turner with a cautionary undercurrent then I highly recommend this book.

Ms. Beykirk adeptly depicted the challenges faced by women entwined in distressing circumstances, shedding light on the Pickle Jar where others may find themselves ensnared. I thoroughly enjoyed “Girl in the Pickle Jar” by Nicola Beykirch. The book chronicles the extraordinary formative years of the life of Anna Wilde. I was drawn into the compelling narrative that captured the resilience, determination and triumph of the main character as she navigated her way through circumstances no teenager should ever have to face. From the first page, I found myself emotionally invested in her journey, sometimes internally facepalming at her decisions while also marvelling at her strength and tenacity in the face of unthinkable adversity. I highly recommend this book which I think will have a particular appeal to the young adult audience.
